To seek greater intimacy with Christ and
a visitation by the Spirit of God upon His people.
Guided by God's Spirit we gather Pastors, Ministry Leaders, and their spouses
from across the region seeking God's Presence and Direction through the power
of Prayer and the Word of God as we strengthen and refresh our spiritual lives.
Prayer Summits servant leaders have been called by God to faithfully steward the Prayer Summit movement and are bound to a distinctive vision: to seek greater intimacy with Christ and a visitation by the Spirit of God upon His people.
Founded in 1992, Prayer Summits of Greater Philadelphia hosts annual Pastors' Prayer Summit where pastors, their spouses, and ministry leaders from across the region gather together in a place of serenity to share in prayer personally, collectively, confidentially, and unceasingly. Since its inception, the Pastors' Prayer Summit has served as a respite for pastors, leaders, and spouses to be revitalized in Christ in an environment that is nourishing to the spirit, mind and body.
Working alongside the pastor and serving in God's vineyard can present a spouse with circumstances unique to her or his role. Believing that the need for prayer and renewal
are not limited to pastors, Prayer Summits of Greater Philadelphia actively encourages
the attendance and participation of spouses at the Prayer Summit where, in addition to providing times of reflection and connection with others, couples can be strengthened in their work together. We also encourage the participation of ministry leaders, whether at
the local church level or more widely in the broader church community and the world.
Prayer Summits' servant leaders continue to seek God's direction in how to better support and serve the needs of clergy as they fulfill the work that they have been called to do. Leading smaller prayer gatherings that are held between annual Prayer Summits, conducting other prayer retreats and serving as mentors to clergy are just a few of the ways that their diverse talents are being used. Giving thanks as they are led in their work, they are mindful of Paul's words, "Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful." - Colossians 4:2
