Rev. William B. Moore is a pastor, preacher, teacher, evangelist and civic leader. The under-shepherd for Tenth Memorial Baptist Church, in Philadelphia, PA, for over 35 years, he has worked in the Philadelphia community since his arrival in the city in 1974. Helping to bring vision, outcomes, and growth to many of the area’s boards, coalitions, commissions, and businesses, Bill formerly served as the Executive Director and Deputy Director of the Parking Authority for the City of Philadelphia, as a staff member for former Congressman William H. Gray, III, and as the Area Development Director of the United Negro College Fund’s (UNCF) Philadelphia office. He is a founding member of United Bank and also serves as vice-chair of the board of directors for the bank. In 2000, he was appointed to serve as chair of the board for the Foreign Mission Board of the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc., a position in which he continues to serve. Born in New Bern, North Carolina, Rev. Moore is the son of the late Earl W. Moore, Senior and Mamie Moore. He earned his BA degree at Fayetteville State University and a Master of Divinity at Lutheran Theological Seminary. He has completed additional graduate work at North Carolina Central University (Durham, NC) and in 1998, received an honorary Doctorate of Divinity degree from Geneva College (Beaver Falls, PA). Married to the former Pauline Mills, they are the proud parents of two children, both of whom are also in the ministry.
